Our Service Since 2011: An Important Update
14 years of serving devotees.
Garbarakshambigai.org began its service in March 2011 with the aim of helping devotees who were unable to visit Sri Garbarakshambigai Amman Temple at Thirukkarukavur personally.
For fourteen years, we assisted devotees in arranging pujas and receiving prasadam from the temple. Our service was particularly valuable to families living outside Tamil Nadu and overseas, for whom distance, language and practical difficulties made visiting the temple challenging.
Over the years, we developed a close understanding of the temple’s traditions, the procedures followed by devotees, and the questions that frequently arise concerning ghee prasadam, oil prasadam and prayers to Goddess Garbarakshambigai.
We are grateful to the devotees who placed their trust in us throughout these years.
What Changed in 2025?
In 2025, the temple authorities stopped permitting us to conduct pujas on behalf of devotees.
Consequently, we had to discontinue the puja and prasadam service that had operated through this website since 2011.
This was not a voluntary decision to close the service.
We understand that the discontinuation has affected devotees who previously relied on us, particularly those living overseas who were unable to visit Thirukkarukavur personally.
We remain committed to helping devotees access accurate information about the temple and its traditions.
Are We Currently Accepting Puja or Prasadam Orders?
No. Garbarakshambigai.org is not currently accepting or processing puja or prasadam orders.
We cannot arrange pujas at the temple or dispatch temple prasadam through our former service.
We do not want devotees to make payments or place orders under the mistaken impression that our earlier arrangements remain operational.
If circumstances change and we are able to resume any service, we will provide a clear update on this website.
How Can Devotees Obtain Prasadam Now?
Devotees who wish to obtain ghee or oil prasadam should contact the temple directly or enquire about its current arrangements when visiting Thirukkarukavur.
Temple procedures, availability and charges may change. We recommend confirming current information with the temple before making travel plans or sending payments.
Our website provides detailed information about the traditional prasadam practices, including:
- Ghee prasadam for couples praying for conception.
- Oil prasadam associated with prayers during pregnancy.
- The traditional 48-day ghee practice.
- Prayers and slokas associated with Goddess Garbarakshambigai.
- Guidance for devotees planning to visit the temple.
These resources are intended to help devotees understand the traditions and prepare for their visit.
Continuing Our Work Through Garbarakshambigai.org
Although we can no longer provide our former puja and prasadam service, the knowledge and experience accumulated since 2011 remain valuable.
We are therefore developing Garbarakshambigai.org as a comprehensive independent information resource about Sri Garbarakshambigai Amman, Lord Mullaivana Nathar and the temple at Thirukkarukavur.
Our work now focuses on documenting the temple’s history, sacred traditions, prasadam practices, prayers and practical information for visitors.
We are also reviewing and updating older pages so that devotees can clearly distinguish between our historical service and the information currently available through the website.
Our Independence
Garbarakshambigai.org is an independent website. It is not the official website of Sri Garbarakshambigai Amman Temple or its administration.
Information about our former puja and prasadam service describes activities undertaken between 2011 and 2025 and should not be understood as an offer of services currently available.
We will continue to maintain this website for devotees seeking reliable information about the temple and its traditions.
